The story behind the offer
This page exists because the offer doesn't make sense without the story. Eleven years of decisions explain why VA Staffer hires humans and trains them on AI — instead of pretending one will replace the other.
Fortune 100 project manager who hated the documentation
Before VA Staffer existed, Jeff was a project manager inside a Fortune 100 company. He liked moving projects forward. He hated the documentation, the status updates, and the repetitive tasks that ate his calendar every week.
"The work was real. The grind around the work was the problem."He hired his first VA out of his own pocket
Without permission, without a corporate program, and without a budget approval, Jeff hired his first virtual assistant out of his own paycheck — just to take the documentation and follow-up off his plate so he could actually run projects.
His colleagues noticed the productivity gap
His output went up. The work he shipped looked cleaner. Other project managers started asking him how he was getting so much done. They didn't want a productivity hack — they wanted the same kind of support behind their own work.
VA Staffer was founded
What started as a personal hire turned into a placement business. In 2014, VA Staffer was founded to give other operators the same kind of leverage Jeff had quietly built for himself.
All-in: he moved to the Philippines while it wasn't yet profitable
In February 2016, with the business not yet profitable, Jeff moved to the Philippines to build the team in person. It was a deliberate bet — get closer to the work, hire better, train better, and stop running the company from a screen on the other side of the world.
It wasn't a marketing move. It was a survival move that turned into the company's core advantage.ChatGPT launched. He felt sick to his stomach.
When ChatGPT shipped in November 2022, Jeff's first reaction was not excitement. It was nausea. He could see what was coming — fast — and he knew his team was going to have to fight for jobs against tools that didn't sleep, didn't get sick, and didn't ask for raises.
Instead of resisting AI, he built an internal AI task force
Most agencies in his space chose denial. Jeff chose direction. He stood up an internal AI task force — a small group inside VA Staffer dedicated to figuring out which AI tools were real, which ones were hype, and which ones could actually plug into client work.
He flew back to the Philippines to teach the team AI
He flew back to the Philippines and personally taught the team how to use ChatGPT and the surrounding AI tools — not as a productivity gimmick, but as the new floor of skill every modern VA needed. Roleplays, prompt patterns, drafting workflows, judgment calls.
The AI Persona Method was born
Out of that training came the AI Persona Method — the core idea that humans don't just use AI, they operate AI Personas / AI Employees with names, jobs, voice, and accountability. That framework is what powers our done-for-you AI Employee offer today.
VA Staffer became one of the early AI-trained virtual assistant teams on the market — not by replacing humans, but by upgrading them.
